Care and Maintenance

The drums are played with bare hands - no hand or arm jewellery whatsoever. This protects the skin, which is pulled to a high tension and anything sharp could rupture the skin, leading to expensive repairs. If looked after a skin will give many hours of playing pleasure.

Obviously the more the drum is played, the more your own oils rub off onto the skin. However a dab of coconut oil every now and then will do no harm, a drop or two in the palm of your hand and then smeared over the head - don't drown the skin!!

The drum head, obviously, is not to be used as a table top!! No wet glasses, bottles or cans and definitely no ashtrays or plates of food.

If transported in a drum bag, make sure the top of the bag is padded or you have padding of some sort to protect the drum head.

Because our drums are finished with the highest grade industrial furniture epoxy coatings, dirt is easily removed by wiping the drum down with a damp cloth. Should you want to polish your drum, a good quality furniture polish / wax is advisable.

A very mild detergent solution can be used on our static line - the string!!

Our drums are made with great care and lots of attention to detail - please take care of yours!

Thank you so much for playing at our wedding. Even though we didn't get a chance to say hi, we definitely heard your beautiful music when we entered the venue. Everyone's comments were excellent and they thoroughly enjoyed being entertained while having predrinks and snacks. Our wedding day was so special and you guys contributed to that, so thank you very much.

Thank you for the wonderful hour of drumming which was enjyoed by all at Pinetown Branch. The enjoyment can be clearly seen from the comments recorded in the enclosed feedback forms. Your professionalism, the setting up of the venue the previous day, and the prompt removal of the equipment on the morning of the drumming was most impressive. This is also ensured that we were able to open the doors to our clients on time. Once again many thanks and I look forward to calling on you again in the not too distant future.
