This certainly put all the delegates on a high and was a good motivator for our conference. (Interpak Books)
It is truly a phenomenon to experience how a beat and drums can unify a body of people and instantly create a spirit of camaraderie and togetherness. The drumming is a truly magical experience and is real food for the soul. (Red Bull Karting)
The group really enjoyed the session which helped us break the ice with the delegates from different countries around the world. I particularly appreciated the focus being on the group making the music rather than the instructors playing to the group. (Unilever SA)
For someone facing an incurable illness to drum ecstatically for 55 minutes says it all. The drumming served to lift people’s spirits, enliven their lives and created a mind shift away from their problems. (Highway / Phoenix Hospice)
Thank you so much for the afternoon and two evenings you spent with us at Chelsea Preparatory School. As you know our staff so enjoyed the relaxation of drumming after our staff meeting that we felt we had to share it with our parents. Although we were a little anxious that we would not be able to sustain two evenings, the hundred odd parents and friends who joined us had a wonderful time and would certainly be willing to join us again. The friendly and easy manner with which you conducted these sessions is so non-threatening that even the worst of us relaxed and had fun. I personally am very challenged when it comes to anything, which requires musical ability and even I enjoyed the experience. Thank you so much and we look forward to seeing you again next year when you workshop our school.
Our Team Effectiveness Workshops (TEW’s) are structured in a way that provides for variety and some level of creativity in approaching the assigned tasks. They create an environment in which the attendees think creatively, have fun & learn and at the same time. We use the drumming sessions to maintain the teams’ excitement and to enhance the bonding that may have taken place during the preceding sessions. Upon reflection the following lessons, among others, are derived: Unity of purpose and leadership role in maintaining it, Unique roles played by different team members to achieve the end goals, Originality & Creativity in formulating & playing one’s own style Relaxation & fun (Distell)
Regards the evening; The set up, drums and percussion instruments were excellent, you managed to get a cohesive sound out of a bunch of novices! The length of the session was just right, hands were pleasantly 'warm' The warm down session was a really good idea and professional The proof of the pudding was the way the guys talked about it later and the following week. Everyone agreed it was a great experience. Thanks for making it happen. (DNV)
Fun was had by all. I saw some sour faces in the beginning as some people were reluctant to participate, but by half way through everyone was smiling and was having a good time. No one wanted to stop when the session was over. It was a fantastic way to end a really long exhausting day. I personally felt rejuvenated and was ready to go and paint the town red. "It was lovely, exciting, joyful and playful session, great, refreshing, do it again, loved drumming - those guys are great, next time invite the same people, I thoroughly enjoyed it, de-stressing after a long day, creative and fun." As you can see you guys were great! Well done! (DramAidE)
The whole drumming was beneficial in the sense that it teaches you that you need others in order to succeed , promotes teamwork. (Standard Bank)
I can state quite categorically that all my Staff enjoyed their drumming experience. As expected not everyone was equally enthusiastic to begin with but afterwards they could not stop raving about the fun they had. On the Monday following our session I walked past one of the classrooms and heard the class banging away on their desks. The Teacher decided to show them a little of what we had done and the children begged her to allow them to use their desks as drums. This happened to be one of the reluctant Teachers! Thank you, once again, for introducing us to a new experience. (Grosvenor Boys' High School)
We had a truly enjoyable time drumming across all 4-sessions at Homeleigh. During the day each group was broken into smaller teams; focusing on mental and physical exercises. The evening sessions were intended to round off the day by pulling everyone together with one objective in mind – to unwind and have fun, whilst appreciating each other’s company! And this is exactly what Talking Drums helped us achieve, every session, without fail! (Mondi SA Division)
