Welcome
Welcome to Talking Drums, the Home of Facilitated Interactive Drumming; Hand Percussion and Mike Chananie's Drumshop!
Facilitated Interactive Percussion is an absorbing team building exercise which enhances co-operation and encourages listening skills, whilst bonding and building trust amongst the members of your staff. Hand Percussion gives your team the opportunity to be creative with their musicality, the Djembes and percussive toys, e.g. maracas; bell trees; wood blocks; tambourines and triangles.
All Djembes used by the participants are handmade by Talking Drums, ensuring that a high quality instrument is available for each participant. Facilitated Interactive Percussion is a sound journey which requires instruments that are 100% playable.
Facilitated Interactive Percussion is an intensive 60 minute session that is aimed at synergising your team. Your staff consists of people who have different personality types and need to be able to work together at all times to be productive.
The drumming session is aimed at taking the participants out of their comfort zone, as this activity is something that has probably not been experienced before. Drumming requires that the participants multi-task – look, listen and participate!
The "how to" is facilitated on the run, making participation fun as well as informative. Skills required are introduced in layers, starting with basic instruction which then progresses as the group grows in confidence.
Music is maths and maths is music! All music has a time signature which can be counted. If you can count to 4, you can drum with Talking Drums!
The secret to Talking Drums' sessions is that we give the participants "permission" to "play". As adults we tend not to be spontaneous, focussing on the "big" stuff in our lives. Everyone needs to play occasionally! Getting your team to "play" together is what we do.
This team building activity has no winners and no losers, the team makes music together.

Talking Drums certainly exceeded all expectations at our annual team build on Friday last week. The mystique of not knowing what it is all about until you get into the performance is enticing!
